A Sing & Rhyme Activity for Babies

Sing a Song!

Sing & Rhyme Play with sounds, songs and rhymes.

PLAY

Sing a Song!

Babies love to sing! When we sing, we naturally slow our language down, making it easier for babies to hear the smaller sounds that make up language. Plus, it's really fun too! Sing every day with your baby and come to your neighborhood library branch to find songbooks and CDs. You can even find music streaming on Hoopla with your library card!

The Wheels on the Bus

(Roll hands as pretend "wheels" and act out the rest of the song)

The wheels on the bus go round and round,
Round and round, round and round.
The wheels on the bus go round and round,
All through the town.

The people on the bus go up and down,
Up and down, up and down.
The people on the bus go up and down,
All through the town.

Additional verses:
The wipers on the bus go swish, swish, swish...
The horn on the bus goes beep, beep, beep...
The lights on the bus go on and off...
The doors on the bus go open and shut...

Feel free to add any other verses you can think of!
