You may have noticed that your child recognizes a few letters - perhaps the first letter of his name or letters he sees often. One fun way to explore letters is to go on a letter hunt! Choose a meaningful letter and be on the lookout for that letter everywhere you go. How often do you see it? Talk about the words the letter is a part of and the sound the letter makes. Hunt for letters in books or on signs. Your child will be finding letters everywhere before you know it!
There was a farmer had a dog,
And Bingo was his name-o,
B-I-N-G-O, B-I-N-G-O, B-I-N-G-O,
And Bingo was his name-o.
There was a farmer had a dog,
And Bingo was his name-o,
Clap! I-N-G-O, Clap! I-N-G-O, Clap! I-N-G-O,
And Bingo was his name-o.
Repeat substituting a clap for each letter until you clap all the letters.
