Ozarks Genealogical Society
Published September 3, 2019
The Ozarks Genealogical Society (OGS) has provided leadership in genealogical research and the preservation of local history and family records since 1969. OGS maintains a collection of more than 9,000 books and hundreds of microfilm, microfiche, manuscripts and periodicals. Emphasis is on southwest Missouri and areas east of Missouri from which most early Missourians migrated during the westward expansion, particularly Tennessee, Kentucky, North Carolina and Virginia. Books on New England, the Middle Atlantic states and the Midwest are also prominent in the collection.
Approximately half of the collection is housed in the Local History and Genealogy Department of the Library Center and half at the Ozarks Genealogical Society Library.
