Tales From The Crypt was the quintessential horror comic book and Jack Davis the celebrated Tales From The Crypt artist. A brilliant virtuoso whose long-limbed, cartoony but incredibly detailed slapstick illustrations perfectly complemented the grotesqueries that came from the fevered minds of the EC Comics writers. Mostly written by EC editor Al Feldstein, other tales incorporate the supernatural, science gone horribly wrong as well as the classic 'disbeliever gets his comeuppance' story.
