MARIES COUNTY TOWNSHIPS
The first townships created were as follows, with the polling places mentioned: Jackson, at Dr. Lathem's house at Vienna; Jefferson, at Pay Down; Boone, at Davis Woody's; Miller, at Dr. Chrismon's, and Spring Creek, whose polling place is not known. These were all the townships at first. About 1859, Dry Creek was created from Jackson, and Johnson Township was secured from Phelps County. August 20, 1874, the following township re-organization was made: Johnson; Jefferson; Jackson; Boone; Miller; Dry Creek; Spring Creek.
