SHERIFF RAIDS MOONSHINE STILL

Forsyth, Jun. 5, 1924. ---For some time the sheriff has suspected that a still was being operated on the breaks of Beaver Creek. Some time this week it was located by the authorities about one mile northwest of Hilda postoffice. Tuesday night Sheriff Boles, accompanied by deputies Sam Clemans and Riley Thomason, visited the place and found that the still had evidently been operated all the day before. Practically all the whiskey had been removed, the sheriff finding only about a quart. The outfit was one of the largest that has been located by the officers here. No one was found at the still at the time of the raid and no arrests have been made, but we understand the authorities believe they have sufficient evidence to warrant the filing of information against those believed to have been in charge of the operation.
