Volume 2, Number 9 - Fall 1966
The annual meeting of the White River Valley Historical Society met at the Methodist Church, Kimberling City, Missouri, June 12, 1966. The meeting was called to order by the president, Dr. O. Myking Mehus at 2:00 p.m. Forty persons registered.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
The following business was transacted:
Mr. Ackerman moved that the loan of $100.00 made. by Elmo Ingenthron be repaid. Seconded and passed.
A report on the mailing of the Quarterly was given by Mr. Albert Cummings. He stated that the fiscal year began July 1.
The President gave his report.
1. Two area meetings were held Fall Dinner meeting and a Spring

meeting. Preceding the Spring meeting a Board meeting was held.
2. Report was given on the mailing privileges for the quarterly and it seems that the lower second class postal rate will be obtained.
A report was given by the Editor of the quarterly, Mrs. Jewell Ross Mehus.
The nominating committee presented the following for office:
President, Mrs. Kenneth Ford; First Vice-President, Albert D. Cummings; Second Vice-President, Townsend Godsey; Secretary, Belle Mosley; Treasurer, Mrs. Dorothy Standlee; Historian, Elmo Ingenthron.
Dr. Alice Nightingale moved that the secretary cast the ballot for the officers where there was but one person for the office. Seconded and passed. For Board of Directors, from Christian County: Noel Hall, Gene Geer
From Taney County: Leon Farrell, Mrs. Margaret Casey, Frances McConkey, John Davidson.
Noel Hall and John Davidson were elected. Dr. Mehus introduced the speaker: Mary Scott
Hair. She stated that, "History Is Where You Look for it." She stated that her text was Proverbs Chapter 22, verse 28. A copy of her speech "Old Jawbones" is attached to the minutes. The new officers were introduced by Dr. Mehus and an acceptance speech was given by Mrs. Ford. Meeting adjourned at 3:30.
