PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
BY Kathleen Van Buskirk

The Society’s thirty-first annual meeting, held in June, was well attended, with members and guests from all over Upper White River Valley region. We wish you all could have been there.

Among the officers and directors installed that day were husband and wife Phil and Vonna Robbins, of Branson, who are serving jointly as vice president and program planners. Linda Myers-Phinney, who lives atReeds Springthough she hasa Galena address, was elected to a three year term as the Society’s secretary-treasurer. Linda is employed by the Missouri Secretary State’s office, and is presently involved in assisting counties in establishing archives where their vital records are catalogued and protected, yet available to researchers. Ruth Asher, a past president of the Society, has been appointed research chairman, to assist in ferreting out answers to the questions that come our way.

Ionamae Rebenstorf, who has served your Society as secretary-treasurer and researcher since 1975, and for several of those years also was editor of the Quarterly, retired at the end of June. There is no way of cataloguing the monumental amount of work Mrs. Rebenstorf has performed on the Society’s behalf through the past seventeen years. She has our heartfelt thanks.

Many members paid their dues at the annual meeting, or have already mailed them to the Society. As noted elsewhere in this issue, our new fiscal year began July 1. If you have not yet paid your dues, why not do it now. Please note that as of this issue the Society’s Post Office box number has changed. If you have already sent your dues in, be assured that we are receiving the Society’s mail sent to either box number.
