Four Masonic Families

HICKS - OWEN - WOLF - PARRISH

Hicks..... O.J. Hicks, James B. Hicks, Lige Hicks, and Herbert H. Hicks. James B. Hicks served seven different years as Worthy Master during 1909 to 1947; Lige served as W.M. in 1934 and Herbert H. Hicks as W.M. in 1941.

Owen..... Christopher C. Owen first became a member of Landmark Lodge 364, Benton County, Missouri, then affiliated with Forsyth Lodge, later obtained a dimit to help Claflin Lodge No. 229.

Horbert Owen, member of Forsyth Lodge, is the great grandson of Christopher C. Owen, early merchant of Forsyth.

Wolf..... Ferdinand Wolf, Otto R. Wolf, Olin K. Wolf, and James Wolf. Otto R. Wolf served as W.M. in 1921. Olin K. Wolf served as W.M. in 1930 and 1949.

Parrish..... Joseph C. Parrish, John H. Parrish, London S. Parrish, Robert J. Parrish, Albert L. Parrish, Feggie Parrish, Albert H. Parrish, and Ira O. Parrish. John H. Parrish served as Master for eleven different years, during 1883 to 1918. Joseph Parrish served as Master in 1880, 1881, and 1889. Albert H. Parrish as Master in 1903.

Sibyl Parrish and Mable Hicks were of great help in obtaining photographs of the Past Masters of the Forsyth Lodge No. 453. Sibyl is the daughter of Lonnie L. Parrish (known to his contemporaries as "Long Legs" Parrish).

Mable Smith is the daughter of James B. Hicks, Master 1909,’16,’17,’22,’23’43’47 and the wife of LeRoy Smith, Master 1936.
