Mrs. Alice Darby DuBois, 1350 Bowshier Lane, Decatur, Ill. 62522 one of our newest members, writes that she has received the first two issues of the Quarterly and read them from "kiver to kiver." She enjoyed the story of the Essary Family and wonders if Lillie Essary and her brother Edgar, who used to live on a farm not far from Forsyth are relatives. Lillie Essary was her teacher at Ozark Beach school many years ago.
A copy of "Son of Pioneers" by Omer E. Brown is now available to readers of the library of the American Studies Research Centre in Hyderabad, India. Dr. Max Skidmore, whose wife Charlene, daughter of Viola Hartman, is director of the center.
George H. Hughes, Jr., Route 1 - Box 283, Eau Gallie, Florida, is requesting information, legend or fact, on the Spanish Trader Money left buried near Branson and/or Taney County. He asks if there has been any material published on this subject or anything related to this background.
Dr. Lyle Owen called to inform us that the map in the centerfold of the last issue -volume 6 - number 8 - was drawn about 1914. It was done by C.H. Holman, Member Minard Holman’s father and was loaned to us for reprinting by Mrs. Elmo Ingenthron.
