A telephone call from Mrs. Angel Whaley, SR. Box 125, La Porte, Minnesota 56461, requested information on her father’s family. He is John Harrison Gideon, born in Taney County in 1906 and left the area 13 years later. His parents were George Clark Gideon and Biddie Roberson.

Anyone have copies of Volume I, Numbers 1 thru 4 for sale? If so write the secretary. Or if you would like to purchase these issues write the secretary.

Jeannine Spurlock, Squires, MO 65755, is seeking information on the following names: Silvey, Tabor or Taber, Stone and Jones. Let’s extend a hand of welcome by giving this new member some help.

The Platte County Historical Society, P.O. Box 103, Platte City, MO 64079 has sent word that their Victorian Mini-Mansion Museum is now under renovation. This house, built by Frederick Krause in 1882, is located at Third and Harrel Drive in Platte City.

Announcement is made by the Hempstead County (AR) Historical Society of the formal opening of the Southwest Arkansas Regional Archives (SARA) at Washington. The date has been set to coincide with the Jonquil Festival to be held in the Old Washington Historic State Park during the weekend of March 17-19, 1978.

For those who write asking when and where to send dues you are referred to the first paragraph on the inside of front cover. This information has been placed there for your convenience for the past 2½ years.

W.D. Cameron of Route 2, Box 290, Ash Grove, MO 65604 tells us he has almost completed the restoration of Turnback Mill, near Miller, MO. Located just a few hundred yards off of MO 96 the mill will grind wheat and corn and Bill would like all his friends to stop in and visit with the "miller."
