A Gift for the Treasury

A number of copies of "Son of Pioneers," ‘Recollections of an Ozarks Lawyer’ by Omer E. Brown have been donated to our Society by President Lucille A. Brown, wife of the late author. Mrs. Brown has given these books to be sold with the stipulation that all monies go into the treasury. Soft covers are $3.00 and hardbacks are $5.00. plus 50ยข for postage and handling, if mailed. These books will be for sale at the next meeting or (to be sure of obtaining a copy) telephone the Secretary (334-4807) or write Box 565. Point Lookout, MO. 65726.

Mr. Brown was a native of Ozark County; was educated in Ozark and Douglas Counties; taught school in Ozark County; became a lawyer in 1922 after apprenticing in the law office of Judge Stewart of Ava; and, was practicing law in Sedalia at the time of his death on January 31,1971.

Secretary’s note: This book is full of history of the Ozark, Douglas and Christian County area, with many a chuckle tucked in; names several long-time area families; and lots of pictures. Very interesting non-fiction written by the man who lived it.
