Mary Moody Robinson, 1840 W. Tannehill, Florence. AL 35630 needs help with the Haggard and White family lines. Husband’s great grandmother, Lucinda Jane Haggard, born in MO, (possib1y Taney Co.) married James Marion White (no dates given). They lived for a time in Kirbyville. In 1900 they were in Oklahoma I. T. where White was a peddler of goods. Mr. Robinson believes his grandfather was born in Taney County.

Oklahoma State University announces a 3-day conference/seminar "Genealogical Studies:

England and Virginia, 1500-1750" to be held July 29-31, l982. They have procured 3 exports in genealogical research and historical research to present the program. In addition to scheduled seminars on featured topics, presentors will be available for evening consultation dealing with individual research problem areas. New member, Juanita A. Smith, 112 Park, Joplin, MO 64801, is requesting help on the names of Brixey, Duckett, Lee, Matlock and Scroggins, especially in Barry County. She will exchange information. Does anyone have a listing of graves in Cassville?

Your secretary asked where new member Smith learned about our society and she said that the librarian at Cassville told her. ‘We appreciate the reference."

Lucille A. Brown, Route 1 - Box 32F, Hermitage, MO. 65668 has records to substantiate the statements made in her story, "Crosses and Mysteries" found elsewhere in this issue. She will gladly exchange and share what knowledge and information she has with others who are looking for Crosses. Uriah Cross had a daughter, Martha, who was born in NC and married Robert Arnold, also born in N.C.; a daughter, Rose, married Richard Eldridge; a daughter, Nancy, married Ransom Eldridge; a daughter, Mary, married Francis Arnold; a daughter, Eliza, married Clemmen Dunaway; and a son, Joshua. These in addition to James D. Cross, the grandfather of Birdie Elfleetah Cross. I want to know the parents of Frona C. Buliner (Bollinger); what became of Stacy Woods; how Marinda Woods became Martha Cross; and, if the Asel Cross, who married Mary Demmett in 1760, was the father of Uriah Cross, born in 1791. Also, where did the name "Elfleetah" originate?

Viola Hartman, Route 2 - Box 414, Kirbyville, MO. 65679 is wanting any information pertaining to the following people: Henry Alban, born in N.Y. 20 Oct. 1829, migrated to Kansas from Illinois in 1877, married 20 Mar. 1852 Elizabeth, who was born 14 Feb. 1835 and died 30 Apr. 1865. Mary E. Kitchell, born in IL. 11 Sept. 1838 and died 31 Aug. 1889 was 2nd wife, Both Henry and Mary are buried in the Central City Cemetery in Garnett, KS.

Truman Benjamin Yandell would appreciate any information on the Yandell/Meador lines. James Parks Yandell was born 1807 in NC and married Locky Meador 25 Sept 1828, Sumner Co., TN. Father was David B. Yandell. One son was William Lunsford Yandell who left Barry Co., MO. for TX. in 1878. James Parks Yandell is listed in "Goodspeeds History of Barry County".
