Volume 7, Number 4 - Summer 1980

Quarterly Meeting
September 14, 1980
The School of the Ozarks College Cafeteria

Come for dinner and join others in the room reserved for us.
Cafeteria opens at 11:30 A.M. MEETING AT 1:15 P.M.

A "SHOW and TELL TIME" is being planned by chairman Kathleen VanBuskirk and all members are invited to participate. Polish up that interesting old story, or bring some treasured memento, (a picture, tool, household item, etc.) that is related to life in the White River Valley in times past.

If you don’t want to tell the story yourself, write it and someone will read it for you. Length -- one page or three to five minutes.

And we’ll try to give equal time for telling about your historical items, but we also want to display them. Write a brief note explaining what the item is, its historical significance, age, who originally owned it, and whatever makes it an item of interest. Many of us have not lived here all our lives, but items and stories of historical interest are all around us.

So, please, put on your historical thinking caps. Just one caution, if a story has already appeared in the quarterly or other area publications which those interested in Ozark history are likely to have read, look a little further and find a new one.
