Apologies for the omission of two by-lines in Volume 7- Number 5. Paul Julian DuBois was the author of "Railroad Memories" and Avis A. Hawkins sent "Echoes From a Gold Stampede." Their historical articles contributed to our magazine are truly appreciated.

Campbell, born 1851 in Tennessee, lived in Douglas County, MO., married Sarah (Sally) Ann Randall, daughter of Thomas and Martha (Stewart) Randall of Douglas and Wright Counties. Richard Campbell’s father was Jerry L. Campbell.

Also, Isaac Coday, born 1848 in Wright County, MO., married Amanda S. McIntosh. Isaac was the son of William and Dorcas Coday, Sr. Amanda was the daughter of William W. and Amelia McIntosh.

Word from Jobelle Burk of Springfield a correction on page 4 of Volume 7 - Number 4. Benton, Solomon should read Binion, Solomons.

Linda Melson Mulkey, 17710 3rd Place W., Bothell, WA. 98011 is looking for facts on Mary E. Sims, born 1867 - children Elmer H. born 1890 and Ethel D. born 1892. Listed in 1900 Stone County census as a widow. Later lived in Christian County. Called my grandmother, Dosha Owens Graves (on postcards) cousin. Mary could be a Thornburg and her mother Lucinda Davis Thornburg Penniman.

The Herclerode - Meier Family Association is conducting a search for Herclerode -Meier (Myers) descendants whose ancestors came from Lebanon County, PA. This association is in the process of restoring the Isaac Meier house of central Pennsylvania which is listed on the National Register of Historic Sites. This house is significant because of its architectural characteristics and is located in Myerstown, PA (about 5 miles east of Lebanon, PA).

Virginia Greenwood, 1611 N. Drury St., Springfield, MO. 65802 writes that she desperately needs help with her research on Lucy Harrington, born 1851 in Marion County, AR. - married Martin "Dick" Williams before 1879. She had a brother named Bill. Also Neaves - Neeves: Able, James, Thomas J. &

Harvey. They were from Greene and Douglas Counties. All were killed in 1863 at Yellville, AR. They went to Marion and Caroll Counties about 1860. Information exchanged.

New member Mrs. Ted Healer, nee Mary Jane Hinman, #21 Ozark Dr., Arnold, MO. 63010 has been told that her grandfather, Ross E. Hinman, was once a carpenter in Hollister and that her great grandfather, Wilbur Short Hinman, may have operated an American House Hotel on Downing Street in Hollister. Also, members of Hollister’s Presbyterian Church. Contact to verify this information and any additional Hinman family information would be appreciated.

Last year a lady from Kissee Mills helped with Healer family ties, and in the midst of moving, Mrs. Bealer misplaced her name and address. Mrs. Healer hopes she can reach this lady through this column.

Eva B. Bruner, 2695 Jerome Prairie Road, Grants Pass, OR. 97526 is asking if any of our readers know of the Daniel and Mary (Smith) Killion (Killian) family who lived in Gasconade County, MO. in 1842 and on. Where and when did Mary and David die and their ages? Daniel and Mary’s daughter, Rebecca, married Christopher Stark and moved to Illinois in 1842.

Congratulations to Bethel W. Eiserman of Branson who was presented the Mary Award by the Branson Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce on November 8, 1980. The award, given annually, is for recognition of service given to bringing improvements to the area, as a municipal leadership award or for humanitarianism. His accomplishments are many and at one time he was an active member of 57 organizations. Although our society wasn’t mentioned in the list he has been one of us for many years and we are pleased this honor has come to him.

Mrs. R..E. Carlman 542 Sybil Lane, S. E., Marietta, GA, 80067 sends some very complimentary remarks about the quarterly and the following query:
Barber/Brumley - Mary Barber had a brother, initial A. She married William Brumley, son of James Brumley and Diannah Bilyeu. Who were the Barbers and where did William and Mary get married.

Freda Hampton Karnes, 4230 Austin St., Klamath Falls, OR 97601 is seeking information on James Robert Hampton, born in AR, buried in Camp Creek Cemetery near Mammoth Springs, birth and death dates unknown. Married Mary Ann Brown from VA. Unable to find him in MO. census. He lived in Taney, Christian & Camden Counties and possibly others.

Also General Thurman and wife, Mary Filbeck. They lived at Branson and both are buried there. General died about 1906. He was in the Civil War with a regiment from AR. and later joined another at Springfield. He had a brother Dee who also lived around Branson & Forsyth. Mary Filbeck had two brothers, Spencer and George, and a sister Liddy. Brothers lived around Crane and George died around 1940. Spencer and Liddy died before then.

These people were Mrs. Karnes’ grandparents and she needs more information about them.

Editor’s Note: Volume 4 - Number 8 of our Quarterly lists a Mary Marinthy Filbeck born August 1, 1885, died August 8, 1888. Buried in Herndon Cemetery, 2 miles north of Almartha in Ozark County. Could there be a relationship here?
