Bits & Pieces
by Ionamae Rebenstorf

Rita Foster Wallace, Route 1, Box 355 B, Fair Grove, MO 65648 is interested in locating descendants of William Carroll and Mary Emily (McCracken). PACE. This couple went to Marion County, AR in 1851 with Mary Emily's father, Joseph Richmond McCracken, from Rutherford County, TN. Children were: Elizabeth C. born 1849 (Rutherford Go, TN); Margaret J. born 1851; William J. born 1853, married Sarah JE.?; John L. born 1855, married Charity?; Anna Adeline born 15 Oct 1857, married Harvey Ray Yocham; Mary L. born 1867; and William T. born 1869, married Martha?. From Margaret J. on all were born in Marion County, AR.

Mrs. Wallace is also seeking information on LEWIS C. DENISON of Taney County, MO about 1800-1840. Children were: Eliza who married (1) Asa Yocham, (2) Pew C. Anderson; Emiline married Jacob Yocham; and George, twin brother to Emilne. Where was Lewis from? Who was his wife? His parents? Any help on either research appreciated.

Dorothy Fowler, Route 2, Box 2327, Selah, WA 98942 needs help on her MITCHELL line. Her great, great grandfather was Napolean MITCHELL, born about 1833, probably in Hawkins County, TN. He was married 23 Aug. 1855 to Elizabeth CAVE in Greene County, MO. Their children were Sarah, John, Lida, Frances (Hodges), Sue (Blair), Richard Douglas, Matthew, Mattie (Throp), Nannie (Pipkin), and Marion. The above Richard Douglas, known as Dug, was my great grandfather. He was married to Elizabeth Jane Ewing, 1889.

She thinks that Morris and Sarah (Mills) MITCHELL are the parents of Napolean, but she needs proof. They were in the 1850 census of Taney County and in the 1860 census of McDonald County. The 1850 census only lists initials so she can't determine if Napolean is there. Morris MITCHELL had many children. Some were Martha, Francis, Perry J, Archibald, Issac N., Joseph, Helen, Mary Jane, Susan, and Arlena. These were the youngest. There were at least 12 more that were older.

In 1852, while living in Greene County, Morris wrote a letter to his brother, Lewis, in Hawkins County, TN and mentions a Napolean. This is the only proof she has of Napolean to Morris. Morris died in 1860 in McDonald County and Napolean died after 1870 in Taney County.

She would like to correspond with any descendants of Morris and Napolean MITCHELL.

Mrs. Howard B. Graves, 826 5. Ingraham, Lakeland, FL 33801 would like to secure information on William Henry WOOD, born 1853, Carroll County, AR. He is the son of Thomas Wood, born 1829, KY and Nancy (Pool) Wood, born 1830, GA. Henry married Alice Felton. Both said to have died in Springfield, MO, but no death records found.

Ruth G. Brown, 3105. Airwood, Springfield, MO 65802 desires to correspond with descendants or anyone having information about Elisha and Mariah CUNNINGHAM on 1860 Webster County, Union Township Census. Children were: James, Sarah, William, Susan, Phebe, Benjamin, Henry and Richard. Where were they in 1870? Was Isham CUNNINGHAM a brother to Elisha? When did they move to Taney County? They were listed in Taney County Land Records of 1893.
