THE PRESIDENTS MESSAGE
We are making progress backwards and it is exciting. History is becoming more popular and there is an increasing interest in our heritage. More people are appreciating what they had. The residents of Hollister are restoring American House, the town’s oldest building. The City of Forsyth is working on a historical trail and is requesting information on sites of interest from local citizens through the newspaper. The number of places being considered for inclusion in the National Historic Register for their home which was built as a Lodge Hall and was used as a Drover’s Inn. A visiting nurse told me how her elderly patients are eager to tell her about their younger days in the Ozarks. We plan to collect some of these for a Quarterly article.
