At a Circuit Court commenced and held in the town of Springfield, within the County of Greene and State of Missouri on the 14th day of April 1934. Present: the Honourable Charles H. Allen Circuit Judge, Charles P. Bullock Clerk, John D. Shannon, Sheriff, James Kimberland foreman, Stephen Fisher, King Fisher, George Damon, Georg M. Gibson, Able Lee, Joseph Ross, Elisha Panter, Thomas English, Joseph H. Miller, Samuel Dunagan, John Williams, Larkin Payne, Abner Spence, Ephraim Jameson, Humphrey C. Warren, Benjamin Miller, Nathaniel Kimberland, Kindred Rose and Joseph Fisher were sworn a grand inquest of the State of Missouri for the body of Greene and having received their charge - retired.

This day came the parties by their attornies and thereupon came a jury court - Joseph Weaver foreman, Daniel Gray, John Y. Lemmons, Junius T. Campbell, John West, Archibald Morris, James Smith, Archibald W. Gibson, Dreury Merritt, Owen Cawlfield, John Roper and Joel Jenkins who were elected tried and sworn and having heard all the evidence and argument of councel retired to consider of their verdict, to wit: We the Jury find for the Plaintiff the sum of thirty one dollars for his debt and the sum of two dollars and forty cents damages for the detention of the same - Joseph Weaver foreman. Thereforee it is considered by the Court that the said Plaintiff recover of the said Defendant the debt and damages aforesaid by the Jury aforesaid in there verdict aforesaid appealed together with cost and that said Plaintiff have execution thereforee and the Defendant in mercy. Ordered that Court be adjourned until half past two. Court met agreeable to adjournment.

On motion from John P. campbell constable for Jackson Township in the County of Greene and state of Missouri by his attorney, John Wilson, who filed here in Court a list of fees which have accrued to said Campbell and all the officers witnesses and others interested in the same in a certain matter of controversey wherein the State of Missouri is Plaintiff and Joseph Fogerson is Defendant upon a charge of murder before Justice of Peace and the Court being sufficently advised of and concerning the premises it is ordered that the Clerk of this Court to audit and adjust the same and certify the same to the auditor of the Publick Account for allowance.

The Grand Jury returned into Court a true bill against Valentine Miller and Abraham Testament for selling goods without a license, a True Bill against John L. Davis for pedling without a license, also a True Bill against Joseph Applegate and Elizabeth Mackey for Adultory and Fornication. Having no other business before them were discharged.

John Davis is Defendant and not depart therefrom without leave of said Court.

This day came this Circuit Attorney on behalf of the State of Missouri and the Defendants being solemnly called to come into Court according to the tenor of her recognizance came not but makes defaults and said William Slagle and Henry Acock the cognzors of the said Page 31. Defendants in the recognizance aforesaid being also solemnly called to bring fourth here into Court the bodies of the said Defendants according to the tenor of the said recognizance, bring him not but made default; thereforee it is considered by the Court here that the recognizance aforesaid of the said John Sandlin and Sarah Sandlin and William Slagle and Henry Acock be forfeited.

Thereforee it is considered by the Court here that the said Plaintiff recover against the said Defendants the sum of thirty dollars together with costs with stay of execution as aforesaid and the said Defendants in mercy

Bullock Clerk of the Greene Circuit Court produced his accounts against the County which were audited and allowed. Ordered that the records of the First Term of this Court be transcribed and placed in record book A. Ordered that Court be adjourned untill the Wednesday succeeding the second Monday in August next.
