(previous page) Col. Geo. B. Rathbun, of the firm Rathbun & Son, and Mr. Chas. H. Goffe, with other interested parties, have lately platted the QUEEN CITY ADDITION, an exceptionally fine tract of forty acres on the west side of the city near the “Belt Line,” and have sold a good portion of it to home builders, who have already completed a score of fine homes. These grounds are high and commanding, and very desirable for location. Col. Rathbun has platted and sold the Magnolia and several other additions and subdivisions, most of which bear his name, within the last two or three years, and has been one of the most successful workers for city extension. He is a man of great business courage and decided push, and believes in a bright future for the city. Mr. Goffe has sold properties almost without end; is a man of boundless public enterprise; and reports active building operations “all along the line.” Directly on the north of the “Queen City” plat is the ENGLEWOOD ADDITION of Thomas Kenner & Dingle, another finely improved tract, which these wide-awake gentlemen have lately placed on the market. It is well improved with streets, walks shade trees and a good number of nice homes, with more under construction.
