Friendship House Banquet Room - 1:00 p.m.

"Roark Valley and the Ozarks"By Mac Walden

Ozarks native Mac Walden will present a storytelling session, an opportunity for all those interested in folklore and history of the region. Mac’s father was postmaster of Gretna, Mo.—the post office was in their home located in Roark Valley. Mac grew up listening to visitation by neighbors in the post office and currently resides in Kimberling City.

Society members and guests will arrive shortly after the noon hour to enjoy lunch served by buffet or table service in the banquet room. College help is available to carry trays, so come join us for conversation prior to the meeting.

Prior to the program the Office of Missouri Secretary of State Roy Blunt will award certificates of service to Missouri local history to three Society members.
