"In to the Deep Ozarks" by Sandy Primm
Sandy Primm is an Ozarks history scholar and will trace the 1818-1819 winter expedition of Henry Rowe Schoolcraft into the deep Ozarks, showing slides of present-day sites and reading descriptive excerpts from Schoolcrafts journal.
Sandys presentation is funded by the Missouri Humanities Council (MIIC) and the National Endowment for the Humanities. The MHC is the only statewide organization dedicated exclusively to promoting lifelong learning in history, literature, and other branches of the humanities.
Society members and guests will arrive shortly after the noon hour to enjoy fellowship and lunch served by buffet or table service in the banquet room. College help is available to carry trays, so come join us for conversation prior to the meeting.
