The fall trees are gorgeous and the weather is delightful, so enjoy the outdoors with your family. The Library has recently installed two new StoryWalks® for families to read while they meander along paths and enjoy the changing season. Many thanks to our community partners who collaborate with us to bring this perfect pairing of literacy and exercise to our Library families.
Thank You, Omu is a delicious tale of a sweet grandmother who shares her scrumptious stew with neighbors, only to find there is none left for her own dinner. Oge Mora’s delightful tale and colorful cut-paper illustrations share a story of love, generosity and gratitude. Perfect for the season! Visit J.R. Martin Park at 300 E. Hines Street in Republic to read this heartwarming book.
Travel to Eugene Field Elementary School on 2120 E. Barataria Street in Springfield to experience dazzling trees and read about three friends on a leaf-finding adventure. We’re Going on a Leaf Hunt by Steve Metzger will spark your imagination and engage your senses as you climb, squish and row along with these adventurers. Hopefully you’ll find some lovely leaves, too!
Thank You, Omu and We’re Going on a Leaf Hunt will be available for your reading and walking pleasure through November 30. Two new StoryWalks® will take place in December at J. R. Martin Park in Republic and Fremont Elementary School in Springfield.
