The month of May is designated as Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month, a month to explore the history of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and honor their enrichment to America's culture. Set an intention this month to learn more this rich heritage by visiting the Asian Pacific American Heritage Month website and share some books with your little ones that speak to these experiences. Our youth staff have a great Asian American Stories booklist for ages 3-5 to get you started. And make sure that you keep telling these stories all year long, not just in May!
