You don't always need words in your books to have a great time reading!
Wordless books are fantastic tools to practice telling stories and noticing details in pictures. Older preschoolers are empowered to "read" wordless books and are flexing their narrative skills by making up stories. Adults sometimes feel a little nervous when they encounter books with no words, but they are a fantastic opportunity to be creative. Adults and kids can even tell the story together! The Library's booklist Books Without Words is a great place to start if you're looking for some fun books to share. Check out more fantastic booklists on our Kids page!
