Interactive books can immerse and entertain even the most active kids! Interactive books include kids physically by asking them to participate in the story and to perform actions that move the story forward. If you have a toddler or preschooler who hasn’t been fully engaged in storytimes at home, try out one of these books. It’s impossible to be a passive reader when you are asked to be a part of the book!
Herve Tullet has several great interactive books, including Press Here, Mix It Up!, Let’s Play!, and Say Zoop! Mix It Up! introduces the idea of color mixing, and Say Zoop! is all about silly sounds.
Christie Matheson’s Tap the Magic Tree and Plant the Tiny Seed use interactive storytelling to talk about the seasons and the life cycle of plants.
Some other great interactive books include Don’t Push the Button! By Bill Cotter, Bunny Slopes by Claudia Rueda, and Something Stinks! by Jonathan Fenske.
We hope you find a great book to share together!
