Letter Hunt

You may have noticed that your child recognizes a few letters, perhaps the first letter of their name or letters they see often.  Playing with letters makes learning the names and sounds of letters fun.  Start with the first letter in your child's name and go on a letter hunt!  Everywhere you go, be on the lookout for that special letter.  How often do you see it?  Talk about the words the letter is a part of and the sound the letter makes.  Hunt for letters in books or magazines.  Your child will be finding letters everywhere before you know it!

There was a farmer had a dog,
And Bingo was his name-o,
B-I-N-G-O, B-I-N-G-O, B-I-N-G-O,
And Bingo was his name-o.

There was a farmer had a dog,
And Bingo was his name-o,
Clap! I-N-G-O, Clap! I-N-G-O, Clap! I-N-G-O,
And Bingo was his name-o.

Repeat substituting a clap for each letter until you clap all the letters.
