It may sound counterintuitive, but your participation in the Adult Winter Reading Challenge helps your child’s reading too! If you want your child to grow up to be a reader one of the most important things you can do is read in front of them. Keeping reading materials like books and magazines around your house and reading for pleasure around your child shows them that everyone reads. Adding the Winter Reading Challenge gives you a unique opportunity to show your child that you like reading challenges too! Discuss what you are reading and why you chose it. When you share what you love about a book you are sharing your passion for reading. Being a reading role model is a powerful way to improve your child’s interest in reading. The 2023 Winter Reading Challenge for adults runs from January 2-February 28, 2023. Print or pick up a form and return it to one of the Springfield-Greene County Library branches or the Mobile Library or you can log your titles on Beanstack There's still time, so get to reading!
