Tip Your Hard Hat & Lift Your Highballs for Brentwood
Come say goodbye to the "old Brentwood" in party-style, with Hard Hats & Highballs from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, April 23, at the Brentwood Branch Library, 2214 Brentwood Blvd.
Guests will receive a commemorative hard hat and a chance to write a farewell message on the library wall. Heavy hors d'oeuvres and mixed drinks, wine, beer and soft drinks will be served. Get in on the wine raffle fundraiser, too! Attire is business or dressy, casual to coveralls and tool belts.

The $2.5 million ReNew Brentwood campaign is underway to fund a major renovation begining in May of the 1971 library branch. The branch will close at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 16. The community room will be available for previously scheduled meetings and programs.
Renovations are expected to take six to nine months, and will use existing space more efficiently so that only 1,500 additional square feet will be necessary.
Changes will include an open-ceiling concept for a brighter, more airy atmosphere, an energy-efficient HVAC system, construction based on LEED standards, an expanded and secure children's area, a teen area, a separate public computer area, an expanded reading area, a drive-through service window, and much more.
