VOLUNTEERING

Volunteers are a valuable resource for public service organizations. The Library uses the services of volunteers, age 14 and older, to supplement the duties and activities of paid staff. Keep up with volunteer activities with the Between Volunteers (pdf) newsletter.

There are many opportunities for volunteers in the Library:

• deliver books to the homebound
• mend library materials
• help homebound patrons select books
• shelve materials
• help with clerical duties
• prepare mailings
• present program
• special projects

The Friends of the Library also use the services of its volunteers/members to put on the Book Sales and to staff the Between Friends Gift Shops at the Library Center and Library Station.

A library volunteer application must be completed by each prospective volunteer. Applications are sent to the volunteer coordinator who will contact the applicant when a volunteer position is available.
