C.W. Titus Foundation Gift Puts ReNew Brentwood Nearer Finish Line

The C.W. Titus Foundation has approved a grant of $300,000 for the capital campaign to renovate the Brentwood Branch Library – ReNew Brentwood. The Tulsa-based foundation approved the grant in the form of a two-year pledge at its first quarter meeting, said Titus Foundation Trustee Timothy T. Reynolds.

The generous grant pushes The Library Foundation’s $2.5 million capital campaign to within $200,000 of reaching its goal, said Foundation Director Valerie Richardson. The library branch is scheduled to close April 16, 2016, with major renovations to begin in May and be completed within six to nine months.

“We are honored to partner with the C.W. Titus Foundation in providing a state-of-the-art facility for the Brentwood Branch Library, and appreciate the history of support that the C.W. Titus Foundation has provided for past capital campaigns we have undertaken,” Richardson said. “We are elated that this grant brings us within close reach of our $2.5 million goal!”

In past years, the private, charitable foundation has provided over $600,000 in gifts and grants for projects at the Library Center, the Midtown-Carnegie Branch, the Park Central Branch Library and the Library Station.

“We are thrilled with this pledge from the C.W. Titus Foundation supporting the children’s area in our ‘new’ Brentwood Branch,” said Library District Executive Director Regina Greer Cooper. “The C.W. Titus Foundation has long been a supporter of our libraries, and we appreciate very much their continued confidence in our service to the Springfield-Greene County communities."
