Say Farewell to “Old” Brentwood Branch at Open House April 23

The Brentwood Branch Library will close after 6 p.m. Saturday, April 16, for a major renovation, but the building will reopen on Saturday, April 23, for a family open house so everyone can say farewell to the “old” Brentwood.

From 10 a.m.-3 p.m., get in on some big bargains at the library rummage sale. Furniture and other items that won’t be reused will be priced from $5-$25. Pay that day, take it that day or pick it up the next week.

Open house activities from 1-3 p.m. include a chance to sign your name or Brentwood memory on the walls. Stick around for refreshments, children’s activities, live music, a photo booth, display of Brentwood historical photos, Brentwood/70s trivia, and sales of ReNew Brentwood T-shirts and Brentwood coffee mugs to benefit the renovation campaign.

Through April 28, the community room will be accessible from the south entrance for scheduled meetings and library programs.

At 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, a temporary Brentwood site will open in the Brentwood Center, 2720 S. Glenstone Ave., across from Battlefield Mall. The site will offer a small collection of books, DVDs, CDs; Chromebook laptops and Wi-Fi, study tables and limited seating; holds pick up and returns.
