Geezerfest: The Final Chapter on September 9

Join us for Geezerfest: The Final Chapter, sponsored by the Friends of the Library at the Library Center on September 9.  As the band closes out its run and hangs up its guitars, we are proud to host one of its last concerts.  Don’t worry about the rain, weather, or the crowded auditorium; we are moving the band inside to perform in the stacks. There will be plenty of room for all, and we will even provide the chairs. The evening activities will start with food trucks on the patio at 5:30; you can grab a seat and get comfortable inside the library just as the concert begins at 6:30.

The band is “Geezer” in name only – they’ll rock out for two hours with an eclectic list of tunes from the 60s to the present.  Their playlist will include a mix of covered songs and favorites by The Beatles, Eric Clayton, Linda Ronstadt, the Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan, The Eagles, Styx and Bonnie Raitt.

The Friends of the Library have provided Geezerfest for many years, and we are honored to be included in their final chapter. “Geezerfest at the Library Center was my favorite gig! It was created for our band and fans of classic rock. For almost two decades, it drew the most appreciative audiences we ever played for. I’m so thankful to Lorraine Sandstrom and Friends of the Library for creating this opportunity for us,” said Richard Struckhoff, band founder and member.

The Friends of the Library has enjoyed sponsoring Geezerfest each year.  We hope this year’s event is bigger than ever as it is moved inside the Library Center,” said Steve Long, Friends of the Library President. A special thank you to the Friends of the Library for their long-standing support of many outstanding musical programs.

We hope you plan now to join us for this fun evening as we say goodbye to this fantastic group.
