Mother's Day
Did you know that Mother's Day is this Sunday? It's true, so if you're in a hurry to figure out a gift we have a few ideas for you.
In the Spot at Midtown Library this week we made Pinned Corsages. All you need is fabric, glue or a needle and thread, and a button or gem. Cut the pieces of fabric in any shape that strikes your fancy and layer them on top of one another. Next pick out a button, gem or other object to place in the center. Glue or sew all parts together. Now attach a pin to the back and you're done! Here are a few pics from our designs:
These books, available at the library, were our inspiration:
Fabric Jewelry by Teresa Searle
Rosie O'Donnell's Crafty U by Rosie O'Donnell

Other Ideas: Write poem, bake goods, spend the day with Mom, do some extra chores, hand pick a bouquet of wild flowers, make a necklace with beads and string, paint or draw a picture.
