Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale Returns Oct. 26-30 at the E*Plex on the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds

September 26, 2016 —     It’s easy to stock up on winter reads, holiday gifts and great bargains when you shop at the Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale, Oct. 26-30.

     The sale returns for the second time to the E*Plex at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds, 3001 N. Grant Ave., where shoppers in the spring welcomed roomier aisles, a bigger selection, a streamlined checkout and plenty of parking. Visitors can enter through Gate 4 off Norton Road parking and admission are free. 

     Admission is free from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday, Oct. 26-29; and 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30. Enjoy Half-Price Day on Saturday and Bag Day on Sunday, when all the goodies you can stuff in a sack costs $1, or $5 from the Better Books side. 

     Adult, young adult, children’s books and most audiovisual items are priced at $1 or less. Better books are $2 and up. Friends can accept cash or check only. 

    Friends Night Preview Sale is 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, at the E*Plex. Friends with membership cards get in free; or pay $5 that night at the door for an annual membership and get in free that night and at the spring 2017 sale. Membership also entitles you to 10 percent off all items in the Between Friends Gift Shops and opportunities to volunteer at Friends and Library events.

     The holidays are coming, so it’s a perfect time to load up on gifts for friends and family, and some for yourself. The Friends have a variety of collectible, gift-worthy coffee table books, oldies and new favorites in CDs, DVDs, audiobooks and vinyl records; puzzles and games. They have books for all ages in every genre, from history to sci-fi; mystery to romance; crafts to self-help to religion.
