Author April Henry Presents Workshop, Talk Nov. 22 at Library Center

October 25, 2016 — Teen and adult writers have two opportunities to learn helpful techniques from award-winning and New York Times best-selling author April Henry at the Library Center.

Henry will teach you How to Grow Your Plot with her valuable techniques for plotting your stories and novels at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, in the Library Center auditorium, for age 14-adult.

This 60-minute workshop will give you terrific ideas and motivation for growing your story plot. A New York Times best-selling author, Henry writes adult and teen mysteries and her titles regularly receive starred reviews. Registration starts Nov. 7; call 883-5341.

From 7-9 p.m. for age 12-adult in the auditorium, Henry will present What Doesn't Kill You: A Writer's (Sometimes Crazy) Commitment to Getting It Right.

Henry knows how to kill you in two-dozen different ways. At age 12 she sent a short story about a 6-foot frog who loved peanut butter to children's author Roald Dahl, who had it published in an international children's magazine. Now April makes up for her peaceful childhood by killing off fictional characters, and has published 20 mysteries and thrillers for teens and adults.

Four of her best-selling titles will be available for purchase and signing at the event: "The Body in the Woods," "Blood Will Tell," "The Girl I Used to Be" and "The Girl Who Was Supposed to Die.

The events are sponsored by the Springfield-Greene County Libraries and the Christian County Libraries.
