Artists' Panel Discuss Joys, Challenges of Artrepreneurship
June 9, 2023 — Teens and adults are invited to learn how a panel of self-employed artists made their passion for art into careers at Artrepreneurship in the Ozarks from 10 a.m.-noon on Monday, June 26, at the Schweitzer Brentwood Branch Library.
Making a living in the arts can be an art, itself. Spend the morning with a panel of self-employed artists and learn from their challenges and successes and how they've turned their passion into a career.
The panel features:
- Meg Wagler, founder of the MidxMidwest art festival, visual artist, illustrator and muralist. Her work is recognized for its bold palettes, striking compositions and messages of self-love.
- Justin Larkin is a Springfield musician and entertainer. With 15+ years experience performing across America with various musical groups as well as a one-man band, Larkin performs a distinct and hearty blend of roots, soul and rock ‘n’ roll he likes to call "Cosmic Ozarkana Music.”
- Andrea Petersburg is a macramé artist and owner of the Local Bevy, a storefront featuring a contemporary collection of local handmade art, crafts and goods. Andrea describes herself as a business owner who supports and represents several local Springfield artists.
- Linda Passeri is a graphic designer, sculptor, muralist, painter and event coordinator involved in organizing the Moon City Creative District and Summer Solstice Art Fair.
