General Storywalk
Take a StoryWalk®! The Library has partnered with Dickerson Park Zoo for a special, one day only StoryWalk® to celebrate "Finding Winnie" by Lindsay Mattick for the One Read. Come to Dickerson Park Zoo on Saturday, April 1, at 10 a.m. to read the book together, walk the path to the bear exhibit and see other black bear programs and activities by Zoo staff. The admission fee will be waived for children ages 3-12 who bring a teddy bear, and anyone over the age of 12 with a bear will pay the group admission price of $6.
You don't always have to read the words! Make up a story to go with the pictures or use a book with a cd to share stories together. Use the Library catalog or ask a librarian to help you find books with cd's. 
First writing looks like random scribbles but they are an important part of the process. Have crayon time every day and those scribbles will become words quickly! 
It's time to Power Pony Up with The Shake Ups! The Shake-ups in Ponyville will be doing a special concert at the Library Center for all ages on Friday, March 24th at 7 p.m. showcasing their original music inspired by "My Liittle Pony: Friendship is Magic!" 
Funky hats, colorful hats and hats with a purpose -- the Fair Grove Branch Library is celebrating Hats, Hats, Hats! all day long on Wednesday, March 22nd. There will be crafts and activities for infants to age 6 inspired by Jon Klassen's hat-themed trilogy and a special storytime at 11 a.m. 
Together with your preschooler, make a collage of pictures of things that start with the same sound, like "car," "cat," and "key" for the "kuh" sound. Focus on the sound of the letter instead of the name of the letter. 
The Midtown Carnegie Branch Library is having Bilingual Storytime on Saturday, March 18th at 11 a.m. for infants to grade 2. This interactive storytime is designed especially for Spanish-speaking families. 
Help your little one practice all those words he is learning by asking lots of questions! 
It's Pajama Storytime at the Republic Branch Library! Wear your pajamas and cuddle up with a stuffed animal on Monday, March 13th at 7 p.m. as infants to age 6 listen to stories and sing songs perfect for bedtime. 
Telling stories is all about playing pretend so put on your creative hat and engage in some make-believe! 
Meet Author and Illustrator Kevin Henkes at the Library Center! Caldecott award-winning illustrator Kevin Henkes will talk about his art, books and writing during a special presentation for preschoolers through adults on Wednesday, March 8th at 7 p.m. Following his speech, he will sign books which will be available for purchase or you can bring your own. Signing will be limited to two books.

It's time for Racing to Read Playtime at the Library Station! Come play with us on Saturday, March 4th from 10 a.m. to noon. Infants to age 6 will enjoy activities that are developmentally appropriate and lots of fun.
