General Storywalk

 Take a StoryWalk®! The Library has partnered with Dickerson Park Zoo for a special, one day only StoryWalk® to celebrate "Finding Winnie" by Lindsay Mattick for the One Read. Come to Dickerson Park Zoo on Saturday, April 1, at 10 a.m. to read the book together, walk the path to the bear exhibit and see other black bear programs and activities by Zoo staff. The admission fee will be waived for children ages 3-12 who bring a teddy bear, and anyone over the age of 12 with a bear will pay the group admission price of $6.

LB Don't Have to Read

 You don't always have to read the words! Make up a story to go with the pictures or use a book with a cd to share stories together. Use the Library catalog or ask a librarian to help you find books with cd's. More

SR Collage

 Together with your preschooler, make a collage of pictures of things that start with the same sound, like "car," "cat," and "key" for the "kuh" sound. Focus on the sound of the letter instead of the name of the letter. More

MID Bilingual Storytime

 Meet Author and Illustrator Kevin Henkes at the Library Center! Caldecott award-winning illustrator Kevin Henkes will talk about his art, books and writing during a special presentation for preschoolers through adults on Wednesday, March 8th at 7 p.m. Following his speech, he will sign books which will be available for purchase or you can bring your own. Signing will be limited to two books. More
