Volunteers are a valuable resource for public service organizations. The Library uses the services of volunteers, age 14 and older, to supplement the duties and activities of paid staff. Keep up with volunteer activities with the Between Volunteers (pdf) newsletter.
The Library has an immediate need for the following volunteers:
A library volunteer application must be completed by each prospective volunteer. Applications are sent to the human resources department, who will contact the applicant when a volunteer position is available.
There are many other opportunities for volunteers in the Library:
- assist with Walking Books program for homebound patrons
- shelve materials
- help with clerical duties
- special projects
The Friends of the Library also use the services of its volunteers/members to put on the Book Sales and to staff the Between Friends Gift Shops at the Library Center and Library Station.
