Kathleen O'Dell has been the community relations director of the Springfield-Greene County Library District since September 2009. Before that she spent 33 years as a newspaper reporter for the Beaumont, (Texas) Enterprise, USA Today and for most of her career at the Springfield News-Leader. She has a bachelor of journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She has won numerous awards for writing from the Gannett Co. Inc., Associated Press, Missouri Press Association and in March 2011 was named the 2011 Quill Award winner by the Writers Hall of Fame.
