There are many organizations and resources that can provide you with information about endangered species and what you can do to help.
Missouri Department of Conservation
Missouri has several endangered and threatened species. This site gives information about plant and animal species that could become extinct and provides information to landowners about how to best protect these species.
Each state in the U.S. has endangered and threatened species. This site is a great place to find out more about species that are close to extinction in the U.S. There is also a map that allows you to look up endangered species by state.
International Union for Conservation of Nature
The IUCN Red List provides information about endangered and threatened animal species from around the world. Each species is placed on a continuum from least concern to extinct.
WWF website provides information on some of the most well-known endangered species. The WWF is an advocacy group that works to fund initiatives to protect endangered species and conserve natural resources.
Animal Planet’s website contains and endangered species guide that is easily browsable and kid-friendly.
