Summer Readers Share Book Reviews

Looking for a good read? Just ask a book lover. We did.

 Adults, teens and children enrolled in the Springfield-Greene County Library’s Summer Reading Program are posting reviews of books they’re reading through the online registration site. (You can participate at thelibrary.org/buildabetter world.)  

Here’s what the summer readers are saying:

 For adults:

"Angels Walking" by Karen Kingsbury cjburt wrote: "This book was very captivating! It was about how the little things in life can add up to big miracles!"

For teens

"Girl Stolen" by April Henry. 21sarahhedges wrote: "This book kept me turning the pages and my eyes glued to the suspense. I really enjoyed engulfing myself into the plot with Cheyenne."

"Six of Crows" by Leigh Bardugo. Ciscoramon writes: "… I loved the suspense and the action, all the fantasy parts…"

"In the Hall of the Dragon King" by Stephen Lawhead. Huskypup2002 wrote: "… It is an action-packed Christian-based fantasy that is a must-read for any fantasy lover and/or Christian teen…"

Younger readers

MShuffit praises "Skippyjon Jones" by Judy Schachner. "… Highly recommend this book as a fantastic read-aloud!"

"Roller Girl" by Victoria Jamieson. DayDay writes: "This is a great book for anybody starting or in the middle of middle school/ junior high. It’s funny, relate-able and a good quick read. Especially good for anyone a little unsure of themselves or annoyed they don't fit in…"

"The Very Grumpy Day" by Stella J. Jones. Hcummins writes: "Gave us the opportunity to talk about how being kind to one another is always the best choice."
