5th Annual LibraryCon Aug. 17 Kicks off With Concert Aug. 16

Meet the creators and illustrators behind comics, books, games and more at the annual fandom festival for all ages on Saturday, August, 17, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Library Center.

Featured guests include artist Gary Bedell; writer Cullen Bunn; artist, writer and animator Luna Cooper; artist and writer Maia Cooper; and cartoonist, author and illustrator Eric Shanower. Activities include an illustrators’ draw-off competition, geeky storytime, Next Reads Alley, tabletop gaming demo room and featured guest panels and presentations.

Get your geek on! Visit and take selfies with your favorite superhero characters all day, and feel free to come in your own character costume.

 Start your LibraryCon fun the night before, on Friday, August 16, at 7 p.m. in the Library Center auditorium with a concert for all ages featuring Harry and the Potters. It’s part Harry Potter, part punk rock band, and spawned the genre of wizard-rock.
