Your Week, Simplified: Geezer Concert, Bluegrass, Fix-it Fair and Bridge.

Few library events consistently attract 400-plus people every year, and one of them happens Saturday SEPT. 7 on the Library Center patio. It’s Geezer, the local cover band that plays rock tunes from the ’60s-’90s.

Geezer Fall Fest is 6:30-9 p.m. on the patio (in the auditorium if it rains). All ages love this free concert because the music crosses generations. And Geezer is just that good.

Arrive early for a comfortable seat and a snack at the Mudhouse. Or bring a lawn chair or a blanket and relax on the grass. Returning Geezer are Richard Struckhoff, Mark Ellman, Jana Henderson, Rusty Swift, Duane Lewis and Dave Sharon. The concert is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Shift musical gears and drop by the Second Sunday Concert Series the next day, Sept. 8, for bluegrass with another library audience favorite, Blue Train, at 2 p.m. in the Library Center auditorium. This free concert is also sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Another four-week series offering an Introduction to Contract Bridge begins Thursday, Sept. 5, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Library Center Story Hour Room.

Exercise your brain while you learn a game that can bring new friends into your life – also good for the brain! Members of the Bridge Center will give an introductory course over four consecutive Thursday evenings. Registration starts August 5; call 883-5341 to register.

If you need a little know-how to fix a household item, bring it to the Fix-it Fair from 4:30-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, in the Midtown Carnegie Branch basement meeting room. Volunteer experts will help you repair small appliances, computers, bicycles or clothes. For guidelines, call 862-0135. Presented with the Community Partnership of the Ozarks Tool Library.
