Tinymites Party
“This lively trio will perform at the Tinymite party at the Gillioz Theater at 9:30 o’clock tomorrow morning. They will do a jazzy song and dance act, and make good use of their ukuleles. They are pupils of Miss Lucy Katherine Laney and Miss Ruth Livingston. They are, right to left: Dorothy Lewis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Lewis; Harold Wade Lahar, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wade Lahar; and Mary Lee Haus, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Haus.”
From the Leader & Press, February 21, 1928
The Tinymite Club was based around a syndicated cartoon/story/coloring page, and was sponsored by the Leader & Press. The stories were also read on the radio. The Leader & Press offered several events for club members, including contests, entertainment, and would print the names of club members in the newspaper. Three thousand Tinymite fans filled the Gillioz for this party in 1928.
