All Springfield-Greene County Libraries Require Face Coverings
All visitors ages 3 through adult are required to wear face masks at all 10 Springfield-Greene County Libraries. Children age 3-11 were added to the Library requirement effective Nov. 2, 2020. The Library is enforcing the rule at the five county library branches, as well, for consistency and to minimize the risk of spreading COVID-19 to staff and patrons.
The Library will permit all exceptions permitted by the ordinance, including individuals with health conditions that prohibit the wearing of face coverings.
Individuals covered under all of the exemptions should observe all other recommendations in the libraries to prevent spread of the virus: maintain a 6-foot distance from others, wash or sanitize your hands frequently, and stay home if you are ill.
All previous safety measures remain in place at the library branches: clear barriers at public service desks and windows and additional self-checkout options. Meeting and study rooms are closed to the public for the time being.
The Library continues to monitor and follow the recommendations of the Springfield-Greene County Health Department, city and county officials, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Patrons who prefer not to visit a library branch may use thelibrary.org to find ways to put books and other materials on hold, research projects, get book recommendations, get tax voter information, and they may pick up items on hold at five drive-up windows throughout the district.
