First Air Express Plane

First Air Express Plane Arrives

"Above is shown the first plane of the Southwest Air Fast Express line which inaugurated regular passenger service between St. Louis and Tulsa, Wednesday [April 3]. The plane was photographed here yesterday afternoon when Pilot Tom Parker stopped for fuel. The plane is a Ford tri-motor type, capable of carrying 14 passengers and two pilots. The planes operate on a regular schedule, stopping in Springfield about 10 a.m., en route to St. Louis and about 3 p.m. on the return trip to Tulsa. These planes have a wing spread of 76 feet and weigh 7,000 pounds."
