If the weather outside is frightful, try these two indoor activities for kids and families that encourage reading, family games and activities, designed especially for kids and families by the Springfield-Greene County librarians.
Library Takeout
Grab a family Library Takeout kit at your favorite library branch or the Mobile Library. Library Takeout kits are designed to keep your mind and hands busy with fun activities and reading. Kits are filled with ideas and materials to stretch your imagination and grow your skills. Visit during business hours, December through February, and pick up a Library Takeout kit. Available while supplies last.
Families and Kids: Celebrate Reading with Library Bingo!
It's getting cold outside, but we have a way to add some pep to your reading time and help pass the winter season with Library Bingo! Starting December 1, pick up a Bingo board at any branch or the Mobile Library, or download one from thelibrary.org/kids. Your board will be filled with ideas to keep you reading for fun and engaged with the Library over the winter months. Will you fall in love with a new genre? Learn new crafts, hobbies or games? Challenge yourself to complete a row, a column or even an entire board! When you’ve completed at least one row or column, bring your board to any library branch or the Mobile Library no later than February 15. You will be entered into a drawing for a gift card to Amazon or Barnes & Noble. Winners will be announced February 26.
