Maker Space Series to Let You Learn It, Make It

 See what you can do at this series of sessions that will introduce you to the laser engraver, 3D printer, vinyl cutter, film and movie converter and soldering stations. The Maker Space is in the Midtown Carnegie Branch Library, 397 E. Central St. Visit thelibrary.org/makerspace for a video tour.

No time to visit our Maker Space? Adults may pick up one of our pre-made projects at the checkout desk or Maker Space and finish it at home. We’ll provide the pre-cut materials and assembly instructions; you provide the creativity and customization! Available while supplies last.

Family Visit to the Maker Space

Tuesday, March 15, 9:30 a.m.–6 p.m. for families with children in grades K–6. Learn, imagine, create and make! You supply the creativity and we'll supply the tools. Our trained staff will introduce you to the Glowforge Laser Printer and get you started creating a personalized wooden bookmark. Sign up for an hour appointment; materials will be provided. Registration starts March 1; call 417-862-0135.

Maker Space Orientation

Saturday, March 19, 10 a.m. for adults in the Maker Space. Learn about the equipment available in the Library's Maker Space, watch demonstrations and view sample projects. This orientation will cover basic equipment operation, safety, design resources and tips.

Celebrate National Pet ID Week with DIY Pet Tags

Monday–Saturday, April 18–23, 9:30 a.m.–6 p.m. for adults in the Maker Space, by appointment. Create a personalized, laser-engraved pet ID tag at the Maker Space during National Pet ID Week to keep your four-legged friend safe. Staff assistance and materials will be provided. Introduction to Laser Engraving: Wooden Bookmarks

Saturday, May 28, 2 p.m. for adults in the Maker Space. Library staff will teach you how to design a personalized, wooden bookmark using the Glowforge Laser Engraver. Materials will be provided. Registration starts May 14; call 417-862-0135
