If it’s been a while since you visited your library, or even if you’re a regular visitor, we’re rolling out the red carpet for everyone beginning August 1 with an invitation to Reconnect with The Library Your Way. We've expanded hours for busy students and families, we'll replace your lost library card for free, and we've got more thoughtful and fun programs on the way.


Library Removes Masking Rule, Resumes More Services

Visitors and staff no longer have to wear masks in library branches and outreach sites, with the removal of the City of Springfield's COVID-19 Pandemic restrictions. More services have been restored, and more welcome changes are coming soon.


COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics Planned at Five Library Branches May 21-26

Still looking for a convenient place to get the vaccine? Did you know 12- 15-year-olds are eligible now, too? Register, and then drop by one of the five vaccine clinics planned at library branches, and feel confident returning to the things you love to do this summer.

Thank you to everyone who donated books, CDs, DVDs and more -- and shopped at the Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale April 28-May 2! The Friends beat their record-high sales figure set in 2019, this time selling $172,653.88 in items for all ages and interests.
