Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale Brings In $167,698.40

Thanks to donors and shoppers from all corners of the Ozarks, the Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale hit its second-highest total ever, with $167,698.40 in sales. Since the sales began in 1985, the all-volunteer Friends group has raised over $4.5 million for your Springfield-Greene County Libraries.

It's another win for library cardholders: The St. Charles City-County Library has joined MOBIUS. Now you can check out that district's nearly one million items that it now shares with Springfield-Greene County and other libraries in the MOBIUS partnership.

If it’s been a while since you visited your library, or even if you’re a regular visitor, we’re rolling out the red carpet for everyone beginning August 1 with an invitation to Reconnect with The Library Your Way. We've expanded hours for busy students and families, we'll replace your lost library card for free, and we've got more thoughtful and fun programs on the way.


Library Removes Masking Rule, Resumes More Services

Visitors and staff no longer have to wear masks in library branches and outreach sites, with the removal of the City of Springfield's COVID-19 Pandemic restrictions. More services have been restored, and more welcome changes are coming soon.
