O'REILLY GENERAL HOSPITAL OF SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI
Occupational Therapy -- Sculpture
R0085
The Occupational Therapy department used a number of arts and crafts to aid in mental and physical therapy, in this case, sculpturing. The item being sculpted item looks like the beginning of the nude sculpture found in the O'Reilly exhibit at the 1944 Ozarks Empire Fair. According to an article in the Springfield Leader & Press, dated May 4, 1944, p12, the sculptor is Pvt. Thomas Wooh, who broke his leg in basic training. See photo R0089. Undated.
